First Day of School!

Well the school year is upon us and we now officially have 2 preschoolers! Will started Pre Kindergarten today and Grady started the Preschool 2's class. I can hardly believe Will is now in PreK and think about "this time next year" way too often. I just can't get over how quickly time is passing. This school year will bring Will going to school one additional day...he will attend Tue, Wed and Thur and has a great class. About half of the kids are from his class last year...and I realized that 3 of them (including Will) have Daddies who were fraternity brothers together at A&M. Who would have known these guys in a small, local fraternity would have kids the same age, live in the same area of town and send their kids to the same school?!?! Small world! Anyways, his teachers seem great and I continually am thankful that our church offers such a great preschool, allowing the boys feel like our church is a second home. Thank you, Lord, that we continue to be blessed with good teachers and good friends at our sweet little school!

Grady will be going to school Tue and Thur, giving him Wednesdays to be big man at home! I'm looking forward to those special days...not to mention girl day on Tuesdays and Thursdays!!! I know Wednesdays will have a different feel this year, than next year when it will be the norm for Will to be gone during the day! Last year, the teachers told me that Grady just LOVED seeing Will...so much so that they would sporadically hold hands through the chain link fence that separated their two classes on the playground! Those are the moments I could be a fly on the wall!!! Anyways, it sounds like this year will be no different! Will's teachers reported that Grady's class passed Will's in the hall and Grady got out of line to go give Will a hug! So sweet! The funny part was that Will didn't even give him a little squeeze back...his response was that his teachers had told him to keep his hands behind his back and bubbles in his mouth (no talking in the halls). Ahh yes, my sweet LITERAL rule follower! They also said that Grady kept coming over to Will's class windows while on the playground and looking for him. I didn't even know Grady knew which classroom was Will's from the inside, much less from the playground! Funny little Grady! Always trying to keep up with brother!

Anyways, the first day was a success...the boys had a ball and the look on their faces at pick up always melts my heart!

Wow! What a change a year brings...these are from the frist day of school 2006:
After the fun first day, we were then off to get ice cream with Helen, Xander, Gavin and B...a tradition we started a couple years ago. Fun fun times!
