Rebecca Jane is the proud owner of a Bumbo...courtesy of good friends of ours. Bumbos didn't exist when Will was a baby and we didn't think we'd use it for Grady. But when we received it as a gift for RJ, the boys had it unwrapped and out of the box before I knew what happened...so we now we have a Bumbo (pink of course)! Our friends who gave it to us (also with 3 children) said she loved using it as a feeding chair especially at the beginning of the baby food stage. It's actaully a pretty cool way for a baby who can't sit unsupported to sit, develop better head control, and join us at the dinner table!!! :-) The PT in me loves it! Besides, every princess needs a throne, right? And the boys have enjoyed trying it out too! When Greg saw it for the first time, he said "what's she sitting on, a pot?"...I guess a throne of a different kind!
On another note, developmentally, Rebecca Jane has found her hands!!! You can see in the picture above how she plays with them together and often just stares at them, mesmerized! Along with finding her hands she has found her thumb!!! Hooray! That has meant the ability to calm herself in bed, especially as she drifts off to sleep at night and then in the morning. Her daytime sleep is still not yet predictable but that's okay with me...uninterrupted nightime sleep is really what I need and we've been getting that several weeks now! Since she found her thumb a few days ago, I've been waking her up anywhere between 9 and 10 in the morning the last few days (!!!)...and this is what I find:
I have no doubt we'll be singing a different tune when it's time for braces but, for now, we are loving sleep filled nights and those cute little sucking noises!
Night night...sure hope I didn't jinx myself!
