Will's First Sleepover

Will had his first sleepover last night! My good friend and former neighbor, Tracy, was in town and her son and Will always have so much fun together. We met when the boys were just about 12 months old and just barely walking...where has the time gone? Aidan and Will are 3 months apart in age and it's so neat to see them play together. They hadn't seen each other in a year and they just picked up right where they left off! The night was full of fun with dinosaurs and and dinosaur eggs, a bit of wrestling and karate kicks, bathtime and stories. The initial plan was for them to share Will's full size bed but as bedtime approached, Will decided he wanted Aidan to sleep in the sleeping bag we had pulled out "just in case" (thank goodness b/c Will can be quite the wiggle worm during sleep and I really didn't want Aidan to be scarred for life on my watch if he got kicked off the bed!) So after a generous helping of stories off to bed they went with instructions to talk for a few minutes then time for sleep. I was fully prepared to have to lay down the hammer after 30 minutes to an hour but that wasn't even needed! All I had to do was get a stuffed animal for Aidan and I didn't hear another peep until 7:30 in the morning! What big boys!

They were so cute this morning...still playing with the dinosaurs Aidan brought. They even ate breakfast with them! We played outside most of the morning and when Tracy came to pick Aidan up that afternoon, they weren't even ready to be separated! I figured at four-years-old, a good 24 hours together and they'd start bickering and be ready for a break but they just did awesome! Oh how I wished they still lived down the street from us!

Will and Aidan were so sweet to include Grady as they played too. I stuggle with how much to allow Grady to join in when Will has a friend over to play...I know Will needs and deserves his time with his friends, but I also know how much sweet Grady wants to join right in. I recognize/hope it will be easier when Grady is a bit older and he can have his own friends over and play more approprately with the big boys too...until then, I let Grady play a little bit then try to engage him with some one on one Mommy time. At times it feels like I'm a circus juggler trying to keep all the balls in the air! I digress...all in all, it was a successful first sleepover. Now Will is just itching to have his buddy Joe come join him next! In fact, he's keeping the sleeping bag out for now...and even sleeping in it himself tonight. Funny boy!

Here are some pics of all the fun!
Taking their dinosaur eggs upstairs for bathtime (these were so cool, eggs that fizzed and dissolved and had baby dinosaurs inside):

Chomp chomp...are you getting the picture that the dinosaurs were major players in their day?!

To be sure Will didn't get all of the spotlight, Grady made sure he got his fair share of laughs:
